Format: Dreiteilige Veranstaltungsreihe zum Thema Dekarbonisierung. Ausrichtung: Keine theoretischen Diskussionsrunden, sondern Anleitung zum konkreten Handeln und Begleitung konkreter Projekte. Neuer Ansatz: Branchenübergreifend. Weg von Insellösungen, hin zu schlagkräftigen Kooperationen. Nicht nur über Probleme reden, sondern Probleme lösen. Veranstaltungsreihe: Bei der ersten Veranstaltung werden Themen identifiziert, an denen die Partner aus verschiedenen Branchen arbeiten. Auf den Veranstaltungen zwei und drei wird jeweils über die Fortschritte der einzelnen Projekte berichtet. Teilnehmer: Vertreter der großen Branchen in puncto CO2-Emissionen, dazu Experten, Wissenschaftler. Die Big Five hinsichtlich CO2-Emissionen und Wirtschaftsleistung: Automobil, Bahnverkehr, Luftverkehr, Schifffahrt, Baugewerbe.

Format: Three-part series of events on decarbonization. Orientation: No theoretical discussion rounds, but instructions for concrete action and support for concrete projects. New approach: cross-industry. Away from isolated solutions towards powerful cooperation. Don’t just talk about problems, solve problems. Event series: At the first event, topics are identified on which the partners from different industries are working. The second and third events will report on the progress of the individual projects. Participants: Representatives of the major industries in terms of CO2 emissions, as well as experts and scientists. The Big Five in terms of CO2 emissions and economic performance: automobiles, rail transport, air transport, shipping, construction.

  • Termin Hamburg I: Kennenlernen zwischen ca. 25 exklusiv geladenen Unternehmen (einmalige Chance als Pioniere in erster Runde dabei zu sein) / erste Projekte auf lokaler Ebene entstehen / eingeladene Start-Ups diversifizieren das Angebot / „Ideen“ Award für Start-Up, Projektidee, Ansatz eines Unternehmens
  • Termin Hamburg II: Teilnehmerkreis wird verdoppelt und für Projekte auf nationaler Ebene erweitert /Fortschrittsbericht zu HH 1 in Hinblick auf Projekte (Berichterstattung, Begleitung) / Vergabe von Fortschritts-Awards für Projekte die erfolgreich angelaufen sind (motivierende Kontrollfunktion für Teilnehmer und DI gleichermaßen; „es tut sich was“)
  • Termin Hamburg III: Teilnehmerkreis wird erneut verdoppelt und für Projekte auf EU-Ebene erweitert / Fortschrittsberichte zu HH I und HH II
  • Appointment Hamburg I: Getting to know about 25 exclusively invited companies (unique chance to be part of the first round as pioneers) / first projects at local level emerge / invited start-ups diversify the offer / „Ideas“ Award for start-up, project idea , approach of a company
  • Date Hamburg II: group of participants will be doubled and expanded for projects at national level / progress report on HH 1 with regard to projects (reporting, monitoring) / presentation of progress awards for projects that have started successfully (motivating control function for participants and DI alike; “ Something’s going on“)
  • Date Hamburg III: group of participants will be doubled again and expanded for projects at EU level / progress reports on HH I and HH II

Vor dem Hintergrund sich immer schneller verändernden klimatischen Bedingungen und Ereignisse stehen kleine, mittlere und selbst Weltkonzerne, mitunter sogar ganze Staaten, vor mehr als nur der landauf landab diskutierten Frage „Wie soll die Mobilität der Zukunft aussehen?“. Es geht um die Frage: „Welche Energieformen und -arten wollen, ja können wir morgen nutzen, um Mobilität, Transport, Wohnen und ganze Industriezweige aufrechtzuerhalten. Und wo kommt diese Energie her?“.  Decarbonization Initiative (kurz DI) hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, zahlreiche Unternehmen, die vor diesen Problemen stehen, an einen Tisch zu bekommen und sich auszutauschen. Die Initiative möchte praktische Lösungsansätze aufzeigen, um sie in einem überschaubaren Zeitraum in konkrete Projekte zu überführen und zu begleiten.

With the background of ever more rapidly changing climatic conditions and events, small, medium-sized and even global corporations, sometimes even entire countries, are faced with more than just the nationwide discussed question of „What should the mobility of the future look like?“. It’s about the question: „What forms and types of energy do we want, yes we can use tomorrow to maintain mobility, transport, living and entire branches of industry. And where does this energy come from?”. The Decarbonization Initiative (DI) has set itself the goal of bringing numerous companies facing these problems together and exchanging ideas. The initiative would like to point out practical solutions in order to transfer them to concrete projects and accompany them within a reasonable period of time.

Unternehmen und Wissenschaft vernetzen.

Unternehmen und Wissenschaft vernetzen, um neue Wege zur Dekarbonisierung des Industrie- und Energiesektors zu schaffen. Entscheidungsträger:innen aus Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Politik treiben die Dekarbonisierung der Mobilität und Industrie durch konkrete Projekte voran. Mobilitätsbereiche: Privater Bereich (Pkw, Zweiräder), gewerblicher Bereich und Transportwesen (leichte und schwere Lkw, Baumaschinen), ÖPNV (Busse und andere Transportmittel), Schienenverkehr, Luftwirtschaft, Schifffahrt (Kreuzfahrtschiffe und Handelsschiffe, private Boote), letzte Meile. Industriezweige Bauwirtschaft (Begrünung von Dächern und Häuserfassaden), Logistik, Baustoffproduktion, Bautechnik, Wärme/Fernwärme, Stromversorgung, Energieversorgung, Rohstoffgewinnung, Recycling (Closed Circle).

Connecting business and science to create new ways to decarbonize the industrial and energy sectors. Decision-makers from business, science and politics are driving the decarbonization of mobility and industry through specific projects. Mobility areas: Private sector (cars, two-wheelers), commercial sector and transport (light and heavy trucks, construction machinery), public transport (buses and other means of transport), rail transport, aviation, shipping (cruise and merchant ships, private boats), last mile. Industry sectors Construction industry (greening of roofs and house facades), logistics, building material production, construction technology, heat/district heating, power supply, energy supply, raw material extraction, recycling (Closed Circle).

Wir denken Beyond Zero.

Es geht nicht mehr nur um den Mobilitätssektor, wenn man von Dekarboniserung spricht. Es geht um mehr Energieunabhängigkeit in den Bereichen Wasserstoff / Elektrizität / Biomethan / E-Fuels …Wie können einzelne Unternehmen ihre CO2-Emissionen spürbar verringern? Wie können Unternehmen in der Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Unternehmen, die vor ähnlichen Herausforderungen stehen, gemeinsam vorgehen? Dabei geht die DI noch einen Schritt weiter und möchte neue Wege finden, um den CO2-Verbrauch nicht nur zu reduzieren, sondern CO2 aus der Atmosphäre zu entfernen. We think Beyond Zero.

It’s no longer just about the mobility sector when you talk about decarbonization. It’s about more energy independence in the areas of hydrogen / electricity / biomethane / e-fuels … How can individual companies noticeably reduce their CO2 emissions? How can companies work together in collaboration with other companies facing similar challenges? DI goes one step further and wants to find new ways not only to reduce CO2 consumption, but also to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. (CCU – Carbon Capture and Utilization and CCS – Carbon Capture and Storage). We think Beyond Zero.

Ausblick: Decarbonization Initiative

Da die Initiative das Thema Nachhaltigkeit als Schwerpunkt hat und die Dekarbonisierung einen Marathon über zwei Dekaden darstellt, ließe sich aus der Initiative eine nachhaltige Organisation in Form eines wissenschaftlichen Instituts entwickeln, in der sich interessierte Unternehmen ebenfalls wiederfinden. Es geht also nicht nur darum, eine dreiteilige Veranstaltungsreihe zu organisieren, sondern das Thema langfristig zu betrachten und zu unterstützen.

Outlook: Decarbonization Initiative

Since the initiative focuses on the topic of sustainability and decarbonization represents a marathon over two decades, a sustainable organization in the form of a scientific institute could be developed from the initiative, in which interested companies can also be found. So it’s not just about organizing a three-part series of events, but about looking at and supporting the topic in the long term.
